Random Designer of the Day

Young designer from Queens who feels her collections are inspired most by her art backing.
began in 2001
layered knits, shredded gowns, brash designs
ran her label independently with minimum costs in her Upper East Side Studio
then won the Ecco Domani award that granted her $25,000 dollars and a show in Bryant Park
the line, however, is currently paused while Ping focuses on her other successful line Slow and Steady Wins the Race

here's one of my favorite looks from her last line (spring 2008)

Favorite Collection for Spring 2011

Valentino is always super classy, flowy, and dreamy. For Spring 2011 RTW I felt that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Paolo Piccioli took the trendiest route with their adorable 50's touch. Here are my top three favorite looks from the collection.
cream chiffon dress on Freja Beha Erichsen
i love the liberal draping and simple slim belt

micro mini + mesh + velvet + ruffled accents is new and extraordinary
especially for spring

the chaos of mesh is like a piece of art and the illusion of lack of fabric is stunning
Going to New York tomorrow!! We are visiting the Met and the Whittney art museums along with getting four hours of free time in Chelsea. Hopefully I will find a great fall find for cheap in that quintessential area of New York. Let me know if you have any recommendations of places to go!

Je T'aime Chanel!

I used to think that people my age liked Chanel because it was the only brand that they knew of, and therefore, i would act like I could care less about Chanel. This was in ignorance, however, because the master mind behind Karl Largerfeld is so extraordinary that every collection is perfectly on fashion target. For this spring, the Chanel ads are my favorite so far. The new model has perfect lips, a slight gap in her teeth, and wonderful bohemian hair. The clothes are layered and eclectic; they set the bar for spring. Can you disagree? The ad is not in english here but you can get the idea ha ha!
