I Love YOu

My grandmother is the loveliest woman alive. She is the most fashionable woman of her age that I personally know. I wanted to pay tribute to her on my blog as a person has influenced me and encouraged me with fashion.

Spring 2011

Looking through the latest spring collections for 2011, I have noticed from designers, such as Prada and Alexander Wang, that platforms are the freshest shoes to get a hold of. Many realize platforms as high heeled shoes with an extra layer of material between the foot and the floor. With Prada's collections, loafers were elevated with layers of pastel colored platform. Wang took the idea of a platform with his laced-up booties. Designer Anne Demeulemeester also took on the platforms for the spring with her classic, black platform boots. The dark essence of these shoes in the line summarize why she is one of my idol designers. I find it beneficial to see more material brought to the bulk of the shoe, when a person centers their equilibrium over their feet. I set out to find some super cool platforms to wish for for spring. I know i will be XD

here are four fun ones that I found:

JEFFREY CAMPBELL BUCKLE WEDGE -- from urban outfitters

similar to Anne Demeulemeester

Jeffrey Campbell FERME from Sole Struck

COOPERATIVE CANVAS WEDGE from Urban outfitters
similar to Alexander wang

With my money from XMAS

I'm going to France in the spring and one item that I got a glimpse of was an American Apparel red-riding-hood coat in camel. I hope it goes on sail haha but check it out!

All images taken with the new Canon!

I got my Christmas wish and I hope that you all did as well. I have been taking endless pictures after opening my black Canon Rebel XS and now I am very excited to take many high resolution fashion photos haha. Also, I got a 160 g ipod so that I hopefully never run out of space for my music :). My last big present was from my brothers; my oldest brother handmade a skateboard for me! It's the only one made at the moment and is pictured with his unique logo on it. It makes for the nicest ride ever! Clothes wise, I did not get very much because of the value of the presents explained above; however, I did get an extremely comfortable heather sweater, wire headband, and a greenish-grey duffel bag from American Apparel. This is a very memorable Christmas as my photography, music, and skating aspirations are now closer in reach. Thank you SANTA!!!

Winter fashion Pour Moi

This winter I have been wearing a lot of black with mesh and fur. Take goth to the next level with accents of glamour, school boy, or vintage. This winter my favorite new clothing pieces are my black Cheap Monday jeans, my fur vest from TJ Maxx, my mesh blouse from American Apparel, and my metallic eight-eye Dr. Martens! For  winter I'm going to continue listening to the cure and go goth with like Ann Demeulemeester.

Random Designer of the Day

Young designer from Queens who feels her collections are inspired most by her art backing.
began in 2001
layered knits, shredded gowns, brash designs
ran her label independently with minimum costs in her Upper East Side Studio
then won the Ecco Domani award that granted her $25,000 dollars and a show in Bryant Park
the line, however, is currently paused while Ping focuses on her other successful line Slow and Steady Wins the Race

here's one of my favorite looks from her last line (spring 2008)

Favorite Collection for Spring 2011

Valentino is always super classy, flowy, and dreamy. For Spring 2011 RTW I felt that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Paolo Piccioli took the trendiest route with their adorable 50's touch. Here are my top three favorite looks from the collection.
cream chiffon dress on Freja Beha Erichsen
i love the liberal draping and simple slim belt

micro mini + mesh + velvet + ruffled accents is new and extraordinary
especially for spring

the chaos of mesh is like a piece of art and the illusion of lack of fabric is stunning
Going to New York tomorrow!! We are visiting the Met and the Whittney art museums along with getting four hours of free time in Chelsea. Hopefully I will find a great fall find for cheap in that quintessential area of New York. Let me know if you have any recommendations of places to go!

Je T'aime Chanel!

I used to think that people my age liked Chanel because it was the only brand that they knew of, and therefore, i would act like I could care less about Chanel. This was in ignorance, however, because the master mind behind Karl Largerfeld is so extraordinary that every collection is perfectly on fashion target. For this spring, the Chanel ads are my favorite so far. The new model has perfect lips, a slight gap in her teeth, and wonderful bohemian hair. The clothes are layered and eclectic; they set the bar for spring. Can you disagree? The ad is not in english here but you can get the idea ha ha!

Bought a homecoming dress! I bought it off of which is a SUPER cool website with bunches of high fashion apparel to choose from. In the dresses section, in which I was looking, there were about 72 pages worth of variety to choose from. Also, all of their stuff is reasonable. My dress was only $72 and shipping is free. Seriously, be sure to check this website out. I found it thanks to NYLON magazine!!! If you don't subscribe to NYLON then I would highly recommend that as well. Check Check Check it OUT <3

ps. be sure that when you go on the site you change the currency to US dollars

It's fully embellished in pearls :)
